Education Overview
Sexual assault and violence is constantly growing in our
communities according to recent statistics. The only thing
that can bring these numbers down is strong penalties for those who
commit the acts, and effective education to the whole community
concerning different areas of sexual assault & violence. Rape
Crisis Center of Catawba County has established a number of
educational programming to help achieve this goal. Our community
outreach department is always working hard to find new ways to
educate everyday people about sexual assault and violence. Our
progressive approach to education, helps save the lives of hundreds
of people in our community. We educate on a number of topics
from the penalties of committing sexual assault & rape, to ways to
keep yourself safe, to identifying behavior in strangers that could
result in assault. All of our educational programs are not
specific to stopping sexual violence, we have a number of very
unique programs for victims of sexual assault & rape. These
educational programs allows victims of sexual assault to truly
impact their communities with their stories. They also help
victims make safe & healthy decisions, and to live a happy life
after their assault. No one can ever forget an assault, but
working with our community we can help stop sexual violence where it
starts. By developing these programs, we will see the numbers
of sexual assault and rape go down and the numbers of survivors go
up. That is our goal in all we do at Rape Crisis Center. If
