Staff Members

Rape Crisis Center is extremely privileged to have a dedicated and hard-working staff.  Our staff works endlessly every day to help victims of sexual assault, and to educate the community about preventing it.  Check out the brief biographies below, to learn more about the people here to help you!


Amy Eades-Fisher, MSW, LCSW
Executive Director/ Therapist

Amy has been a social worker for twelve years. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 1998 from Mountain State University, she worked with women and children who were HIV+ in Chiang Mai, Thailand. After returning to the United States, Amy worked as Case Manager at the First Step Domestic Violence Program and taught the Abuser Treatment Program. For three years, she served as Victim Advocate and SART Coordinator at Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County. In 2003, Amy was promoted to Executive Director. Amy achieved her MSW in December 2007 from UNC Chapel Hill with a concentration in Management & Community Practice. In her present position as Executive Director/Therapist, she is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the agency including accounting, grant writing, fundraising, administration, supervision of staff, as well as providing outpatient therapy. Amy works with adults, families, and children who have been sexually assaulted, raped, or abused as children. She utilizes both a client-centered and cognitive behavioral approach to therapy. She specializes in borderline personality disorders, adjustment disorders, bi-polar disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, domestic violence and sexual assault victims, grief, and depression.

She is a certified Victim Service Practitioner by the North Carolina Victim Assistance Network (NCVAN). She was a board member of the Children's Advocacy Center for 4 years. Amy was a finalist for the Young Adult Leadership Award for 2004 for the North Carolina Women's Forum. Amy is a member of 2007-2008 Leadership Catawba with the Chamber of Commerce and served on their advisory board for 2 years. In 2010 she was awarded a Sabbatical by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation. She is married to Keith Fisher and they are raising their daughter Karissa. Amy believes in speaking out against injustices and is passionate about helping others.

 

Sarah Baker, MSW, P-LCSW
Victim Advocate/Therapist/Group Facilitator


Sarah Baker has been a social worker for seven years.  She is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato; with Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work.  Sarah has interned and worked in the area of Child Abuse Prevention, Grant Writing, Foster Care, School Social Work, and Medical/Hospice Social Work. Sarah has been working with the Rape Crisis Center for the past 4 years.

Sarah graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in December 2008 with a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW). Along with advocting for vicitms of sexual violence, Sarah has her provitional license as a clinical social worker and provides on site counseling for victims who have no insurance or who are under-insured. Sarah facilitates the adult survivor of child sexual abuse support group for women, the teen support groups, and the friends and family support group.

She and her husband Danny reside in Newton with their 2 children. She is passionate about serving victims and fighting against social injustice.


 

 

Nicole Sherrill

Victim Advocate/SART Coordinator

Nicole is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Human Services. She was the 2008 SOHS Conference scholarship winner in Charleston, SC and was also the recipient of the Human Services Technology award at Mitchell in May of 2008. Nicole is an active member of the North Carolina Organization of Human Services as a former student member and current presenter. She was a Case Management intern in 2007 and 2008 with the Open Door Clinic in Statesville, NC. There, Nicole worked closely with HIV/AIDS clients and their families, providing crisis intervention, limited counseling, and case management services. She was also involved with financial and emergency assistance provided to clients who resided in the shelter and with children of mothers with HIV/AIDS, as well as public awareness and testing/STD campaigns that included public speaking, workshops, and conference facilitation. Nicole resides in Sherrills Ford with her husband, Wes, and their two children. She is very passionate about advocating for the rights of victims, educating the public about sexual assault, collaborating with local entities to ensure a victim centered process, and furthering her knowledge in the areas of sexual assault and the minority populations, community protocol and response, and human trafficking.

 

Brittany Inskeep

Victim Advocate/ Volunteer Coordinator/Teen Group Facilitator

Brittany Inskeep is a recent graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University where she earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Human and Community Services. Previously, Brittany completed an internship with Catawba County Department of Social Services in the Teen Up program. She is currently serving as the Administrative Assistant for the Rape Crisis Center with hopes of becoming much more! She is passionate about dedicating her life to the service of others and hopes that she can have a positive impact on the lives of those she comes in contact with. She currently resides in Hickory

 

 

Camille Smith
Crisis Companion

Camille Smith has been on staff as a Crisis Companion with the Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County for the past 3 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling and is currently pursing her master’s degree at Gordon Conwell Seminary. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

 


 

 


April Kemp-Moya
Crisis Companion

April received her Bachelor’s Degree from Appalachian State University in 1998 and is currently completing her Masters Degree in counseling with a special interest in trauma and grief resolution. April has been employed by the Department of Defense for the past 12 years and has extensive experience working with military family readiness groups and veterans. April’s professional interests include working with adult and children trauma survivors, and she holds a special interest in the resolution of traumatic injury, the neurobiology of trauma, and traumatic memory. April is passionate about supporting victims, advocating for victims rights, and helping others find hope, healing, and direction for their future. She and her husband recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.

 

 

 

Jennifer Willoughby
Crisis Companion

Jennifer received her Associates Degree in 1997 from Maysville Community College in Kentucky, and is currently a Human Services/Management Major at University of Phoenix and will be graduating in April 2010. Jennifer has worked within the social work field for 8 years and held various positions; working mainly with Severe and Persistently Mentally Ill and/or Developmentally Disabled population. Jennifer is employed full time at Catawba Valley Behavioral Healthcare as the Utilization Management Coordinator. Jennifer resides in Conover with her 2 children, Alexis and Jayden. She is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of victims, and advocating for their rights.

 

 

Rennie Hunt
Crisis Companion

 Rennie Hunt is a graduate of Leese-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC.  She graduated in December of 2007 with her BSE.  Rennie has worked in the Mental Health field, off and on, for over 11 years now, with experience in aiding suicide victims, substance abuse, as well as helping the homeless, and teen-age runaways.  Rennie's passion is to advocate for those who are hurting and in trouble, and need someone to stand up for them, and their rights.  Rennie currently lives in Hickory, NC, with her husband and her two beautiful children.
