Staff Members

Rape Crisis Center is extremely privileged to have a dedicated and hard-working staff.  Our staff works endlessly every day to help victims of sexual assault, and to educate the community about preventing it.  Check out the brief biographies below, to learn more about the people here to help you!


Amy Eades-Fisher, MSW, LCSW
Executive Director/ Therapist

Amy has been a social worker for twelve years. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 1998 from Mountain State University, she worked with women and children who were HIV+ in Chiang Mai, Thailand. After returning to the United States, Amy worked as Case Manager at the First Step Domestic Violence Program and taught the Abuser Treatment Program. For three years, she served as Victim Advocate and SART Coordinator at Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County. In 2003, Amy was promoted to Executive Director. Amy achieved her MSW in December 2007 from UNC Chapel Hill with a concentration in Management & Community Practice. In her present position as Executive Director/Therapist, she is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the agency including accounting, grant writing, fundraising, administration, supervision of staff, as well as providing outpatient therapy. Amy works with adults, families, and children who have been sexually assaulted, raped, or abused as children. She utilizes both a client-centered and cognitive behavioral approach to therapy. She specializes in borderline personality disorders, adjustment disorders, bi-polar disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, domestic violence and sexual assault victims, grief, and depression.

She is a certified Victim Service Practitioner by the North Carolina Victim Assistance Network (NCVAN). She was a board member of the Children's Advocacy Center for 4 years. Amy was a finalist for the Young Adult Leadership Award for 2004 for the North Carolina Women's Forum. Amy is a member of 2007-2008 Leadership Catawba with the Chamber of Commerce and served on their advisory board for 2 years. In 2010 she was awarded a Sabbatical by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation. She is married to Keith Fisher and they are raising their daughter Karissa. Amy believes in speaking out against injustices and is passionate about helping others.

 

 

 

Nicole Sherrill

Victim Advocate/SART Coordinator

Nicole is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Human Services. She was the 2008 SOHS Conference scholarship winner in Charleston, SC and was also the recipient of the Human Services Technology award at Mitchell in May of 2008. Nicole is an active member of the North Carolina Organization of Human Services as a former student member and current presenter, and has recently become board certified as a North Carolina Human Services Practitioner. She was a Case Management intern in 2007 and 2008 with the Open Door Clinic in Statesville, NC. There, Nicole worked closely with HIV/AIDS clients and their families, providing crisis intervention, limited counseling, and case management services. She was also involved with financial and emergency assistance provided to clients who resided in the shelter and with children of mothers with HIV/AIDS, as well as public awareness and testing/STD campaigns.  Nicole currently serves as the SART Coordinator for the Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County, where she works closely with law enforcement and partner agencies to provide training and resources to effectively respond to sexual assault victims. She also works with victims and their families through medical and legal advocacy and has recently registered as a Darkness to Light Facilitator in partnership with the Children’s Advocacy Center. Nicole and her family reside in Catawba County.

 

Brittany Inskeep

Victim Advocate/ Volunteer Coordinator/Teen Group Facilitator

Brittany Inskeep is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human and Community Services. During her time at LR, Brittany completed an internship with Catawba County Department of Social Services in the Teen Up program where she was able to work with at-risk youth in a group setting. Brittany has been working at the Rape Crisis Center since February of 2010. She currently facilitates the Teen Support Group, is the Volunteer Coordinator as well as a Victim Advocate. In October of 2010, Brittany became a Certified Victim Service Practitioner by the North Carolina Victim Assistance Network (NCVAN). She is passionate about dedicating her life to the service of others and advocating for victim’s rights. She currently resides in Hickory.

 

 

 

 

Camille Smith
Crisis Companion

Camille has been on staff as a Crisis Companion with the Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County since 2007. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at Gordon Conwell Seminary. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

 


 

Lizette Trejo
Bi-Lingual Crisis Companion

Lizette moved to Hickory from Los Angeles, CA in 1999. She has worked as an Interpreter/Translator in many different capacities and agencies in Catawba County since 2005. She received qualifications as an Interpreter through Lenoir Rhyne University’s International Language program.  Lizette previously worked for the Catawba County Department of Social Services as an On-Call Interpreter for the Child Protective Services unit. She has been providing translating services to the Rape Crisis Center for over one year, and became a Crisis Companion with the agency in May 2011.
