Rape Crisis Center is extremely privileged to have a dedicated
and hard-working staff. Our staff works endlessly every day to
help victims of sexual assault, and to educate the community about

Amy Eades-Fisher, MSW, P-LCSW
Executive Director
Amy has been a social worker
for twelve years. After earning her Bachelor's
Degree in Social Work in 1998 from Mountain State
University, she worked with women and children who were
HIV+ in Chiang Mai, Thailand. After returning to
the United States, Amy worked as Case Manager at the
First Step Domestic Violence Program and taught the
Abuser Treatment Program. For three (3) years, she
served as Victim Advocate and SART Coordinator at
Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County. In 2003, Amy was promoted to Executive Director.
Amy achieved her MSW in December 2007 from UNC Chapel
Hill with a concentration in Management & Community
Practice.
She is a certified Victim Service Practitioner by the North
Carolina Victim Assistance Network (NCVAN). She was a
board member of the Children's Advocacy Centerfor 4 yearsl.
Amy was a finalist for the Young Adult Leadership Award
for 2004 for the North Carolina Women's Forum. Amy
also represents advocates on the North Carolina Sexual Assault
Response Team (NC-SART) State Advisory Committee Member.
Amy is a member of 2007-2008 Leadership Catawba with the
Chamber of Commerce and is currently on their advisory board. She is married to Keith
Fisher and they are raising their daughter Karissa. |

Sarah Baker, MSW
Victim Advocate
Sarah Baker has been a social worker for seven years. She is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato; with Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work. Sarah has interned and worked in the area of Child Abuse Prevention, Grant Writing, Foster Care, School Social Work, and Medical/Hospice Social Work. Sarah has been working with the Rape Crisis Center for the past 3 years.
Sarah graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in December 2008 with a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW). She currently serves as the North Carolina Coalition of Sexual Assault (NCCASA) Region C Representative. Sarah is pursuing her provitional lisence for clinical social work. Locally, Sarah facilitates the teen group Emerge and works closely with teens who have expereinced rape, sexual assault, or sexual abuse.
She and her husband Danny reside in Conover with their 3 children. The couple is in the process of becoming foster parents. She is passionate about serving victims and fighting against social injustice.

Meleah
Greene
Victim Advocate
Meleah received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services
from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 2005 and is currently seeking
her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University
with intentions to graduate in May of 2009. She has worked
as a Qualified Professional for persons with developmental
disabilities and mental illnesses in the past. She came
to work part-time as a Crisis Companion for the Rape Crisis
Center in 2006. With the experiences encountered in her
role as a Crisis Companion, being one of the first responders
to make initial contact with victims reporting to the hospital,
she strives to continue promoting the agency’s mission to
transform victims into survivors with her new role as a
full-time Victim Advocate. Her goal is to focus on the needs
of victims and to make sure that all services are rendered
effectively on behalf of the victims, families, and friends
involved in the healing process.
Meleah is currently finishing her Master's Degree in Counseling from Walden Unversity. |

Nicole Sherrill
Crisis Companion
Nicole received her Associates Degree from Mitchell Community College in 2008 and is currently a Human Services Major at Gardner-Webb University specializing in Counseling. She was the 2008 SOHS Conference scholarship winner in Charleston, SC and was also the recipient of the Human Services Technology award at Mitchell in May of 2008. Nicole was a Case Management intern in 2007 and 2008 with the Open Door Clinic in Statesville, NC. There, she worked closely with HIV/AIDS clients and their families, providing crisis intervention, limited counseling, and case management services. She was also involved with financial and emergency assistance provided to clients who resided in the shelter and with children of mothers with HIV/AIDS. She was involved with public awareness and testing/STD campaigns that included public speaking, workshops, and conference facilitation. Nicole resides in Sherrills Ford with her husband, Wes, and their two children. She is very passionate about advocating for the rights of victims, educating the public about sexual assault, and furthering her knowledge in the area of healing and recovery.

Julie Shankle
Crisis Companion
Julie has worked with individuals with Developmental Disabilities as a Qualified Professional for eight years. Julie received her Bachelor's Degree in Social and Behavioral Science in 1998 from Mountain State University. Julie has worked in ICF-MR level group homes, Inpatient Mental Health and currently works as a Targeted Case Manger for Catawba Valley Behavioral Healthcare. Julie is currently working on her Master's with Capella University in School Counseling. Julie has a passion for working with Victims as a part time crisis companion in which she is the first responder to report the hospital in order to support and advocate for victims. Julie and her husband Macio reside in Hickory with their 3 children. Julie has a passion for assisting and advocating for victims.
